ETHEL Gets Creative

– CARTOON WORKSHOPS WITH OLIVER BROOKS IN STORE FOR AUTUMN HALF TERM - TUESDAY 24th OCTOBER

New Rye concept store, gallery and creative space Ethel Loves Me will be getting creative this half-term and hosting a series of fun workshops for youngsters led by local cartoonist Oliver Brooks.


The store will be hosting two 1 ½ hour workshops on Tuesday 24th October at 1030 am and 2.30pm aimed at children 7-12 years of age.  The children will work with Oliver to either create their very own cartoon character or a story to take home with themand squash and biscuits will also be provided.


Oliver Brooks graduated in 2014, having studied for an FDA in Illustration and BA (Hons) in Art & Design at Hastings College. He now works as a cartoonist and writer, inspired by greats such as Hergé, Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes), Jim Henson and Winsor McCay. He produced posters for the Rye Bonfire Society and Rye Mayor making Day in 2017 and his first book, The Poem That I Wrote, has just been accepted by publishers  Austin Macauley.
